NEW TO YOGA?
Beginners regularly join my classes without any problem. Everything is explained, postures are modified or alternatives offered to be inclusive.
what to expect
You can expect a warm and inclusive welcome from myself and other members of the class.
All classes are conducted in a friendly relaxed environment.
Classes start with a short quiet time to allow the body and mind to mentally arrive.
Following on from this stretches will start to soften tight muscles and tissue.
Most general classes are themed ( i.e. Shoulders, Hips, Spine, Hamstrings etc.), postures will be selected to reflect the theme.
Throughout the class you will be reminded to mentally tune in to your breath together with the body area in focus.
There is usually a mixture of standing and floor postures.
At the end of each session there is always a time set aside to lie down for final relaxation. This allows the body to soften whilst listening to a guided visualisation. Muscles have the time to return to their all-important natural resting length, so avoiding later discomfort.
